Club Notes: Week Ending 20.07.14
17th July 2014 By Munster Rugby
This week’s club notes come from Dungarvan and Nenagh rugby clubs.
Dungarvan RFC
Home and Away star Steve Peacocke who plays the role of Brax in the Australian soap recently met some of the members of Dungarvan RFC during his support of the ‘Keep Waterford Litter Free’ campaign.
Steve played rugby in the backrow position at 6 and still remains a keen rugby supporter. He hopes to catch a Munster game the next time he comes to visit the province.

NORFC Golf Classic
Nenagh Ormond RFC held a Golf Classic at Nenagh Golf Club on Friday week last. It was a very successful event which the club will definitely repeat in the future. We were extremely lucky to have good weather for the majority of the time and everyone involved, from the golfers to those who volunteered their time to help out, really enjoyed the day.
Nenagh Ormond would like to sincerely thank those who contributed to making the day a success: all the teams that entered, the businesses and friends of the club who generously sponsored prizes and tee boxes, everyone who helped set up and run the event and all at Nenagh Golf Club.
Tag Rugby Festival at Nenagh Ormond
Ruck & Roll Tag Rugby Festival takes place this Saturday, July 19th, at Nenagh Ormond RFC and there will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
Teams consist of 12 players, with 2 girls on the pitch at all times. Registration is €;240 per team (just €;20 per player) and this includes admission to the evening entertainment. There are 4 different groups catering for all skill levels so whether you’re an expert or a complete beginner there’s a team for you.
Also during the day, there will be lots to keep the kids busy with an obstacle course, inflatable Go-Karting, sumo wrestling and face painting so why not bring the whole family out to cheer for you?
After the tag you won’t want to leave because we have a great night lined up for you to enjoy. This year, Cork-based band Revenge head the bill. Described as providing ‘great rock music, soaring melodies, one hundred and ten per cent entertainment and two hours of fun, fun, fun’, they are guaranteed to entertain you!
Joining them onstage are singer-songwriter Conor Fahy, the ever popular Twisty and Jay, and Taylor Made. Music starts at 7pm and that’s not all! After the success of their Hawaiian themed cocktail bar last year, the lads have chosen a Spice Girls theme this time round… surely worth a look! Entry to the night time entertainment is €;10.
As always, parking is free and there will be a shuttle service back into town later in the night. All details on www.nenaghormondrfc.com and find us on Facebook & Twitter.
