November Internationals
Ireland plays 3 International tests in The Aviva Stadium, Dublin on 3 consecutive Saturdays during November 2017.
Ireland v South Africa, Saturday 11th Nov @ 5.30pm
Ireland v Fiji, Saturday 18th Nov @ 5.30pm
Ireland v Argentina, Saturday 25th Nov @ 5.30pm
NCW RFC has the option of an allocation of tickets for these games. We would like to gauge interest of Club members in attending.
Please email pronewcastlewestrfc@gmail.com with ticket requests. Based on the interest we will decide on taking up the allocation if interest is sufficient.
Munster Representation
Newcastle West Rugby Club congratulates Charlie O’Doherty who was selected to play with the Munster U18 Clubs vs The Irish Exiles last weekend. Charlie has come through the ranks of the clubs mini and youth structure and is showing great promise of being an exceptional player. The game took place last Sunday in Reading, UK. Well done, Charlie, the club is very proud of you.
Sympathy
Newcastle west R.F.C would like to take this opportunity to send our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Heffernan family of The Old mill on the death of their mother, Mary. Mary’s son Oliver Heffernan is a coach and former player with the club and her grandsons will play with our u16s and u17s this season coming.
Minis Membership Registration Day
We are having a registration day for all minis on Sunday 27th of August 2017 in Kilelline Grounds Clubhouse times will be confirmed nearer the Date. Hope to see you all there it will also be a chance to meet all coaches and club committee members.

Junior and U20 Squads
Strength and conditioning is taking place in Killeline next Tuesday night at 7pm. All Junior and Under 20 players welcome to attend.
U18
Pre-season training is on Thursday nights at 7.30pm in Killeline.
Elite XV (Seconds)
We are entering an elite (seconds) team into the upcoming seasons competitions. We are going into these competitions with our near neighbours Estuary Rfc, Abbeyfeale Rfc, and Listowel Rfc. This is a great opportunity for all four clubs to give guys a chance to play rugby. We are looking to recruit as many players as possible. So if anyone is interested in playing for this team you can contact the manager, Sam Lane on 086 2007482 or from any other of partners in this new venture you can contact the respective clubs committee and they will pass your details onto Sam.
Adare To Survive Challenge:
We are looking for people from 16 years old up to participate in Adare to survive on Sunday 24th of September. We are hoping to have at least 20 people participating we can have a group up to 50. We are looking for players’ parents, coaches or family and friends to come join the group. The more that join the group participating the cheaper the entry for each individual to pay to participate. Tag Rugby
Every Wednesday night 19.30 to 20.30 there will be Tag rugby for people who are 16 years old and older we have had a lot of parents take part in this and have decided to keep it going as a social and fitness group. No experience necessary we will teach you along the way so come join us every Wednesday night in Kilelline Grounds.
Munster Rugby Camp
We are hosting a Munster rugby summer camp for all ages from 6 to 12 years old you have to book on line for this. The camp will run from August Monday 21st to Friday 25th 09.30 to 13.30 each day. Camp kids learn from the Munster youth’s coaches and on the Friday meet two of the players from Munster. Munster Rugby Skills Camp
Munster are willing to provide a Tuesday to Friday “Skills Camp” for Boys only aged 12 to 15 at same time as our Munster Rugby Camp week in August Monday 21st to Friday 25th. Cost €35 euro. Old Crescent RFC

Old Crescent RFC held a very successful Golf Classic at Limerick Golf Club on Thursday and Friday, 10-11th August 2017. The annual fund raising event, held in association with the Limerick St Vincent De Paul Society, was well supported with over 50 teams taking part. Participants enjoyed excellent golf in pleasant weather conditions. The main sponsors of the event were Keane’s Jewellers, Limerick.
After a highly competitive event, the eventual winners were a team from David Meade Fitted Furniture led by David Meade, his wife Margaret and John McDonnell. The Crescent College Comprehensive Teachers team of John Hurley, Chris Cullinan and Peter Moloney, took second place, and the sponsors Keane’s Jewellers team comprised of Eric Hackett, Ger Wall and Gerry Behan, came third.
The prizes were presented in Limerick Golf Club by Tim Duggan, President of Old Crescent RFC, and Aidan Liddy of Keane’s Jewellers, Limerick, main sponsors of the Old Crescent RFC Golf Classic.
