The Old Crescent RFC AGM was held in the Rosbrien clubhouse on Tuesday evening, 24 May 2016, at which Pat Monaghan was elected President for the 2016-17 season. Pat played his rugby with Old Crescent in his ""younger days and has been involved in coaching in the club at all senior levels for many years. He had a rare family distinction this season and last when his three sons, Padraig, Sean and Cathal, played together on the Old Crescent first team.

Other Officers elected at the Old Crescent AGM included, Tim Duggan, Senior Vice President; Peter Doyle, Junior Vice President; Paul Donnellan, Hon Secretary; Val McDermott, Hon Treasurer; Chris Cullinan, Hon Fixtures Secretary; Frank Larkin, PRO/Media Officer; Bill Hanly, Munster Branch Delegate; Pat Liston, Club Registrar. Committee members, Liam Keehan, Liam Noonan, Anthony O'Dwyer.

The Clubman of the Year Award for the 2015-16 season, sponsored by Hon LIfe Member, Jim Roche, was presented by outgoing President, Ger McNamara, to Frank Larkin, the Club PRO/Media Officer. The quarterly Club Supporters Car Draw was also held after the AGM and the worthy winner was Dermot McGovern, Chairman of Old Crescent Grounds Committee. Happy motoring, Dermot!

A mass for deceased members of Old Crescent RFC, celebrated by Fr Liam O'Connell SJ, was held in the clubhouse before the AGM.

Brendan Guilfoyle Caps Old Crescent season with UBL Player of the Year Award

Brendan Guilfoyle, the Old Crescent RFC number 8, capped a superb season by winning the Ulster Bank League Division 2C Player of the Year Award. Brendan was presented with his award by Irish coach, Joe Schmidt, at a glittering awards ceremony in the Aviva Stadium hosted by Ulster Bank last evening.

Brendan fully deserves his award, having played a key role in Old Crescent's march to the top of Division 2C and automatic promotion to Division 2B next season. He scored nine UBL tries during the season, and his ability and experience was instrumental in guiding a relatively young Old Crescent squad to success.
