Highfield have extended their lead at the top of Division 2B of the Ulster Bank League, as Cashel and Thomond keep their hopes of promotion alive in Division 2A.

In Division 2A of the Ulster Bank League, Cashel came from 14-0 down away to Bective Rangers to win 43-20 at Donnybrook and move up to fifth place, three points behind the second promotion place.

Thomond are a point behind Cashel after their 33-18 home win over Dungannon.

U.C.C. jumped above Rainey Old Boys with a 25-22 win in Magherafelt, where Paul Kiernan scored two tries for the students and Brian Vaughan got one. Kevin Kidney kicked two conversions and two penalties.

Nenagh Ormond lost away to Banbridge 20-7, a result that sees them hovering just above the relegation zone.

Highfield ran in ten tries in their 62-13 home win over DLSP to extend their lead at the top of the table in Division 2B. Martin Gately and captain Peter Martin each scored two tries with Ben Murphy, Timmy Ryan, Paul Stack, Wayne Falvey, Miah Cronin and Dave Kelly getting one each. They were also awarded a penalty try. Paddy O’Toole kicked four conversions and Tim Clifford two.

Second placed Tullamore lost away to Kanturk 14-8 where Paul O’Keeffe scored a try and three penalties for the Duhallow side.

Sunday’s Well moved above third placed City of Armagh with a 13-11 away win. Cathal Quinn scored a try and Shane O’Riordan kicked a conversion and two penalties.

Midleton recorded a bonus point 45-7 away win over bottom side Ards to stay in the promotion battle.

Old Crescent moved away from the relegation battle with a 32-16 win over Wanderers at Rosbrien.

Bruff defeated Navan 24-17 and Richmond received a drubbing at Dr Hickey Park losing to Greystones 82-16.

There was one game played in the Munster Junior Cup where Old Christians defeated Fermoy at Rathcooney 27-10. A try from Paddy Naughton and a conversion and penalty by Andy O’Callaghan gave the home side a 10-3 half time lead. Scott O’Connell, Sam O’Connell and Chris O’Donnell added further tries for Christians and O'Callaghan kicked another conversion. Eric Stapleton scored Fermoy’s try and Mike Sweeney converted and also added a penalty.
