Coach Development To Host Rugby Attack Workshop

Former Munster prop BJ Botha delivers a workshop at Garryowen FC.

The Munster Rugby Coach Development Department are set to host a Rugby Attack Workshop, delivered by Paul Barr and Mike Pettman on Monday, December 9, at Irish Independent Park (7pm-8pm).

Barr and Pettman will each deliver a session on Rugby Attack designed for coaches who work with players from U14 through to senior level.

Paul Barr is a coach with Presentation Brothers College, Cork, while Pettman is a technical skills development coach with Munster Rugby.

Barr coached Cork Constitution to an All Ireland League Division 1A and Munster Senior Challenge Cup title while also coaching Bandon U16s to an All Ireland win last season.

Pettman joined the Munster Rugby Development Department earlier this year.

The former New Zealand 7s player and Dolphin RFC utility back is currently working with Munster’s talent identified players to help develop their technical and tactical ability, as well as improving the standards of skills coaching on the Munster pathway within clubs and schools.

The Rugby Attack Workshop is FREE and coaches from across the province are welcome to attend. The session will be on pitch from 7pm-8pm followed by a Q&A opportunity in the hospitality suite.

For more information please contact your respective coach development officers – Owen Mullowney (owenmullowney@munsterrugby.ie) and Brendan O’Connor (brendanoconnor@munsterrugby.ie).
