Coaching Clinic At Old Crescent RFC
18th March 2014 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby recently hosted a third consecutive stage 2 and 3 coaching clinic for Old Crescent RFC and Crescent College Comprehensive coaches.
In total 15 coaches attended the evening as well as 25 players from the Old Crescent U18 side who participated in the session, coordinated by Munster Rugby coaching officers Andy Brace and Fiach O’Loughlin.
The clinic began with a recap of the two previous clinics which were delivered pre and post Christmas. The facilitators looked at ‘The Life of the Ball Group’ and 'Continuity in Contact and Breakdown' areas.
This session showed an introduction to ‘The Early and Late Groups’ which focused on players movement, positioning and repositioning in attack and defence with a view to exploit space.
Munster Rugby would like to thank Eugene McGovern of Old Crescent RFC and the Crescent College forwards coach, as well as Tony Trehy of Crescent College for their help in organising the clinic.
