Coaching Workshop At Scoil Iosagain National School
13th November 2012 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby recently held a coaching workshop for C.B.S. Scoil Iosagain National School teachers as part of the Limerick Regeneration rugby promotion initiative.
The main focus of the session covered a variety of sample fun games and illustrated the importance of including 'physical literacy' in the planning of each session.
Munster Rugby have spent the last month working closely with the school delivering rugby modules and facilitating teachers on how to run coaching sessions independently. It is anticipated that teachers will continue to follow on from the coach education carried out by Munster Rugby staff and take a lead in the delivery of rugby to students.
The Workshop highlighted the benefits of coaching in the collective with an emphasis on reduced skill development through fun activities. Coaches were also shown different activities to develop individual skills including the development of agility, balance, coordination and speed in a fun environment.
Should your club or school wish to take part in similar coaching workshops please email info@munsterrugby.ie for more details.
