Community Rugby Initiative in Waterford

Munster Rugby in partnership with FAS Waterford is currently running a 20 week course aimed at developing rugby coaches by providing training in all areas of Mini Rugby Coaching.

The course is run in conjunction with the 3 Waterford clubs (Dungarvan, Waterford City, Waterpark) and is being held in Waterford City RFC grounds in Kilbarry Waterford.

The content for the course has been devised by Munster Rugby in association with the Waterford Sports Partnership and gives the trainees a sound knowledge of what is required to work in the community. The trainees will spend 10 weeks completing the necessary courses and practical work and then spend a further 10 weeks working with groups and schools in the community promoting rugby and an active lifestyle. A county blitz will then be run at the end of the 10 weeks practical work for all schools in the area.
