Competition Winners Announced For Australia Training Session

Munster Rugby would like to congratulate Waterpark College and Bandon RFC, winners of the recent competition to train with three of the Australian International players who are on tour to play Munster in Thomond Park on Tuesday, 16th November.
The competition, launched last October, was open to all club and school U17 squads who were invited to submit a 60 second video clip themed “How Will Munster Beat Australia”.
Entrants were encouraged to use their initiative and sense of humour within the content.
Bandon RFC and Waterpark College will now travel to Thomond Park on the 15th November and take part in a skills training session with selected Australian Internationals.
Munster Rugby would like to thank all clubs and schools that took part in the competition and hope both winners enjoy their day in Thomond Park.
Prize Winner 1: Bandon RFC U17
Bandon RFC are the reigning South Munster U17 league champions, having defeated Charleville in a very competitive final last season. Currently unbeaten this season, the team are now top of Section 1 of the South Munster League. Bandon also won the inaugural U17 South Munster 10 a side blitz this season.
The core of the Bandon U17 team has been together since U14 level and has contested the South Munster league and cup final at their age grade in each of the last two years.
This U17 squad have developed into a very close bunch over the last number of years and this is evident in the DVD they submitted for the competition.
The squad had a lot of fun putting their entry together and they would like to thank Alice Kingston who directed the affairs.
Bandon RFC have a vibrant and successful youth and mini section with almost 250 youths catered for at all age grates. New players are always welcome on any Saturday to the Old Chapel complex.

Prize Winner 2 Waterpark College U17
Waterpark College in Waterford City was founded in 1892 by the Christian Brothers. The school has a long tradition of rugby with a close association to Waterpark Rugby Club and the Munster Branch.
The school fields teams at under 14, 15, 16, 17 and 19. This season three school players represented Munster at underage level in the recent interprovincial series.
In the last few years Waterpark College has had huge success winning the schools’ O’Brien Cup in 2008 and 2009, a competition the school had not won since 1969.
Waterpark College are now looking forward to further success in season 10/11 and the students are delighted to be rewarded for all the hard work they put into collating a DVD to submit to Munster Rugby.
