Concussion Seminars Rolled Out In Munster Schools
3rd April 2014 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby Coach Development Department co-ordinated a number of IRFU Concussion Seminars for Munster school players and the Munster Association of Referees (MAR) over the past two weeks.
The seminars were presented by Dr. Garrett Coughlan, IRFU and took place in Cork, Limerick and Tipperary (Rockwell College) with large attendances present at all venues.
All seminar content has been designed to educate coaches, parents, players and referees on the dangers of concussion and how to recognise it.
Guidelines were given to each seminar attendee in a wallet size document and have been issued to clubs and schools throughout the country focusing on the key principles of 'Stop-Inform-Rest-Return'.
