Cork Con Aim For 3 In-A-Row

Two proud clubs with histories dating back to 1876 (Clontarf) and 1892 (Cork Constitution) are set for an entertaining battle tomorrow at Temple Hill with the Bateman Cup the prize at stake.

The Ulster Bank Bateman Cup final kicks off at 2.35pm and all are welcome at what is sure to be an exciting game of running rugby. Clontarf and Cork Constitution played out an exciting league encounter three weeks ago at Castle Avenue where over 70 points were registered between the two teams.

Con played in the first ever Bateman Cup final in 1922, losing out by a single point to Lansdowne, but in recent years they have kept a firm grip on the trophy with title wins in both 2013 and 2014.

Their Division 1A rivals, 'Tarf, have never won the Bateman Cup but have been in fine scoring form of late, clocking up a total of 100 points in their last three fixtures.

Adult entry to Saturday afternoon's game is €;10. The Ulster Bank Bateman Cup final will be shown live on RTÉ 2 Television.
