Crescent College Comprehensive Go Top In Bowen Shield

Crescent College Comprehensive are the only side to have won all three games in the Bowen Shield after yesterday’s series of games.

Crescent had an 18-3 home win over Christians. Cillian Rae, JJ O’Neill and Will Leonard scored tries for the winners and Greg O’Shea kicked a penalty. Thomas Quinlan replied with a penalty for Christians.

P.B.C. ended Ard Scoil Ris’s unbeaten run with a 44-8 victory at Wilton. Ben Murphy, Dylan Lane, Morgan Carey, Conor Flanagan, David St. Ledger and Michael Murphy scored tries for Pres’ and Flanagan kicked four conversions and two penalties. Evan Cunningham replied with a try for the Limerick school and Robbie Deegan kicked a penalty.

Rockwell and St. Munchin’s shared the spoils at the Tipperary venue after playing a 21-21 draw. Steve McMahon and Oisin Leahy scored tries for Rockwell and Aidan Moynihan kicked a conversion and three penalties. Ben Kilkenny, Ed O’Keeffe and Stephen Collins replied with tries for Munchin’s and Mark Long converted all three.

Castletroy College defeated Villiers 29-0. Rhys Joyce, Cian Malone, Pat O’Kane, Darragh Kennedy and Mark McCarthy scored tries for the winners and McCarthy kicked two conversions.

Ard Scoil Ris and Crescent College Comprehensive share top spot in the McCarthy Cup with three wins each.

Ard Scoil Ris went to Wilton and defeated P.B.C. 12-3. Jerry McCabe scored two tries for the winners and Peadar Collins kicked a conversion. Pres’ replied with a penalty from Mark Buttimer.

Crescent were 30-10 home winners over C.B.C. Calvin Nash and Billy O’Hora scored two tries each for the winners and Joe Barry and Glen Dickinson got one apiece. Ben O’Callaghan replied with two tries for Christians.

Rockwell defeated St. Munchin’s 33-0. Stephen Quirke scored two tries each and Darren Fehilly, Ben Murray and Harry Gilbert got one apiece. Bill Johnston kicked four conversions.

Castletroy College were easy 65-7 winners away to Villiers. Sean McBrearty scored four tries for the winners. Colum Carroll, David Rowsome and Evan O’Connor scored two tries each and Evan Brommell got one. Carroll kicked two conversions and Conor Fleming three.
