Crescent Through To Final

A blistering second half comeback at Thomond Park Stadium that yielded five tries saw Crescent College Comprehensive book their place in the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Senior Cup Final on March 13th at Irish Independent Park.

Crescent College Comp. 33, Castletroy College 12.

They will now face Christian Brothers College in the decider the side that defeated them 17-5 in the opening game of the competition back in January.

After a cagey opening twenty minutes Castletroy drew first blood when hooker Stephen Atkinson got in for a try and Jamie Heuston converted.

Castletroy increased their lead five minutes later when following an excellent move from a line out prop Conor Myers scored his side’s second try to give Castletroy a 12-0 half time lead.

Full back Daniel Hurley missed a penalty for Crescent in the opening exchanges of the second half but eleven minutes into the second half they opened their account with a try from Peter Hickey which Hurley converted.

Another two try burst by Crescent saw Conor Phillips and skipper Bailey Faloon score and Hurley converted the latter for a 26-12 lead with nine minutes remaining.
