Crosshaven RFC Coaching Workshop
21st December 2010 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby recently held a Coaching Workshop in Crosshaven RFC for all the club youth coaches.
Crosshaven’s U17 and U19 teams participated in the workshop and coaches from the club’s U15s to U19s were on hand to observe.
The session was based on ‘developing individual skills’ with an emphasis on ‘general movement’ while focussing on Munster Rugby’s best practice philosophy.
The Workshop highlighted the benefits of coaching in the collective with an emphasis on reduced skill development through activities. Coaches were shown different activities to develop individual skills. These skills included the development of passing, hand-eye coordination, realignment and breakdown. The collective practical focused on player decision making through general movement.
