Munster Rugby can confirm that women’s captain Dorothy Wall will depart the province following the upcoming Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship for a new playing opportunity with the Exeter Chiefs.

Originally a keen basketball player, Wall joined Fethard RFC in her mid-teens before earning herself a call up to the Munster U18 squad.

Wall went on to make her first senior Interprovincial starting appearance in 2019 against Connacht and went on to win a further 7 caps and captain the side for the 2023 season.

Dorothy was also a key part of the Ireland team that won qualification to the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2025 after finishing third in the Guinness Women’s Six Nations earlier this year while also captaining the Clovers in the inaugural Celtic Challenge competition.

Now aged 24, Wall has 28 caps for Ireland at 15s and has also lined out with the Irish 7s squad. She spent the last five seasons playing in the WAIL for Blackrock College. Outside of rugby Wall recently graduated from UCD with a degree in Radiography.

Speaking about the move Wall said: “I am very excited to be joining Exeter Chiefs and playing in the Allianz PWR next season. I’ve really enjoyed watching Exeter over the last few seasons and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and growing my game over the next while.

“At this point in my life, a change makes sense for me, both personally and professionally. I’m excited to hopefully run out at Sandy Park next season alongside my other Irish teammates.

“I’d like to thank the IRFU and Munster Rugby for their support & understanding and I remain hugely committed to Ireland as we head into a Rugby World Cup year.”

We will thank Dorothy for her contribution to Munster Rugby and wish her the very best with the move following the completion of the Interprovincial Championship.
