Douglas RFC have reached a historic milestone after securing a new permanent home in Castletreasure, Douglas.

The Cork based club, located at Saint Columba’s Hall, have the opportunity to develop a new facility, designed to support its growing minis, underage and adult sections following approval from the council for a long-term lease.

The club’s new home will consist of 15 acres with the capacity for two full-sized pitches, a training area, as well as permanent club and car parking facilities.

Douglas RFC, founded in 1902, will select an engineer company to work on the project with a view to submitting a planning application in September.

A family fun evening will be held in the Tinny Shed, Douglas, on Thursday 16 August from 7-9pm with a free bouncy castle, BBQ, and information on the club’s new home available to all.

The club will also issue a call for support as they prepare to develop their latest facility in the near future.
