Draw Made For Bank Of Ireland Munster Junior Cup

The draw has been made for the opening two rounds of the 2023/24 Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup.

49 clubs have entered this season’s competition, with the nine clubs playing in Division 3 of the Munster Junior League and the second XV of the three Senior clubs playing in Division 2C playing in the opening round.

Round 2 will consist of the six winners from Round 1, plus the 12 clubs from Division 2 of the Junior League, along with four Senior Second XV of clubs playing in Division 2A and 2B of the All Ireland League. Cashel were not included in this round as they are playing Division 1 of the Senior Club League.

Round Three will contain the 11 winners from Round 2, 14 clubs playing in Division 1 of the Junior League and the seven clubs playing in Division 1 of the Senior Club League.

The dates for Round 3 will be announced after Round 2 is played and so on for subsequent rounds.

The six defeated teams in Round 1 will play in the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Bowl and the 11 defeated teams in Round 2 will play in the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Plate.

Four clubs wished not to take part in the competition. They were Ballincollig, Chorca Dhuibhne, Ennis and Galbally-Mitchelstown.

Killorglin v Ardscoil Old Boys
Midleton v Clonmel
Scariff v Carrick-on-Suir

Round 2 – January 28th

Cobh Pirates v Dungarvan or Castleisland,
Dolphin v Crosshaven,
Douglas or Bruff v Killarney or Waterford City
Killorglin or Ardscoil Old Boys v St. Mary’s
Kinsale v Youghal,
Midleton or Clonmel v Abbeyfeale,
Nenagh Ormond v U.L. Bohemian,
Old Christians v Tralee
Old Crescent v Waterpark,
Scariff or Carrick-on-Suir v Fethard
St. Senan’s v Fermoy

The dates for subsequent rounds are:

Round 3 – 25th February

Round 4 – 24th March

Quarter Finals – 31st March

Semi-Finals – 7th April

Final – 21st April.
