6th October 2010 By Munster Rugby
UL Bohemians under 21s were victorious in the Ellickson/Kavanagh Tournament last Saturday afternoon which was held at Waterpark RFC.
The tournament, which is played annually, runs for one day in a blitz format. The 10 minute halves for pool games and 15 minute halves for the final are ideal for visiting teams to manage player game time.
Victory for the 'Robins' was secured with group wins over Greystones (14-0), Sundays Well (17-10), Waterpark (7-0) and Barnhall (12-5). The final saw a repeat clash with Barnhall which UL Bohemians won 12-6.
UL Bohemians, who this week kick off their AIL South West Conference challenge against Galwegians at Annacotty on Saturday, are coached by former UL Bohemians player Mike Storey, current UL Bohemians senior player Ed Torrie and Donn O'Sullivan. The win in Waterford comes four years after UL Bohemians previously won the title, when the side included current coach Torrie.
The winning squad on the weekend was as follows: Pat Doyle, Tom Doyle, Gavin Fahy, Paul Quill, Eoin Sweeney(c), Dave Cleary, Jamie Fogarty, Rory Cunningham, Tim Rafferty, Alan Rossiter, Rory White, Ceiran Cleary, Ross Mullane, Paddy Gleeson, Graham O’Keeffe, John Sutton, Rory Kerins, TJ O’Sullivan, Ceiran Higgins, Mark Abraham, Jamie Byrne, Conor Stallard.
