End Of Season Blitz Round-Up

A number of national school blitzes have taken place in the last number of weeks as the 2022/23 season comes to a close.
There were some strong participation levels at recent blitzes in Cahersiveen, St Munchin’s College, Ballincollig and Kanturk.
In Cahersiveen, 26 teams made up from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class students from six schools competed on the day.
The teams played ‘Rugby Prime’ which is two-touch rugby with teams ranging from seven to 10-a-side.
Teams from Portmagee, Scoil Saidhbín, Caherdaniel, Waterville, Filemore and Aghatubrid took part.

In St Munchin’s College, a national school blitz was held for pupils from St Bridgets, Parteen NS, Scoil Ide, Donoughmore NS and Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh.
The teams played ‘Rugby Prime’ and the players also got the opportunity to meet Munster Rugby men’s players Jack Daly, Cian Hurley and Liam Coombes who were in attendance.
A national school blitz was also held in Ballincollig RFC last week which saw teams from Educate Together Grattan St, Crosshaven Boys National School, Scoil Barra Naofa and Ballincollig Boys National School attend.
In Kanturk RFC last week, a National School blitz was held which saw approximately 350 children attend on the day from schools in the Duhallow and North Co. Cork area.
Teams from Lyre National School, Kiskeam National School, Boherbue National School, Derrinagree National School, Rathcoole National School, Kanturk, Lismire National School, Liscaroll National School, Scoil Mhuire Millstreet, Dromagh National School, Cullen National School, Glantane National School, Kilbrin National School, Newmarket and Buttevant competed on the day.
Throughout the summer, there are a number of rugby camps taking place for children of all ages including our Excellence Camps, Schools of Excellence and Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Summer Camps.
