Fethard Workshop For Players And Coaches

The Munster Rugby Development Department recently ran a workshop for the players and coaches of Fethard RFC

Andy Brace and Fiach O'Loughlin co-ordinated the workshop. 14 stage 1 and 2 coaches were present working with 30 players from Fethard's U-10 and U-12 mini rugby age-groups and 25 U-18 boys and girls in respective stages.

The stage 1 session showed a wide range of sample fun games for minis whilst focusing on the skills that relate to the two groups for mini rugby: 'Players on or near the ball' and 'Players in Space'.

Stage 2 focused on continuity in contact and the 'decision-making' process before, during and after the tackle. The session also touched on players' positioning and re-positioning in lateral attack to exploit space.
