Final Games in U18 Festival Today

The last games of the U18 Six Nations Festival take place today in Cork, with Ireland playing Italy, Scotland playing England and France facing Wales.

Italy are hoping grab their last chance to win a game at the ongoing U18 Six Nations Festival in Cork when they take on the tournament hosts Ireland during the final round of games. (Ireland v Scotland, CIT, 2.30pm)

Italy have been beaten by both England and Wales over the past week but manager Francesco Cavatorti said his side were looking forward to playing their third game.

"We want to go home with at least one win under our belts. We expect a tough game from Ireland because they want to win a game as well but we hope to be better than we were against Wales. The players are working hard at training sessions and we want to win so it will be good to get the match underway."

Italy lost 43-10 to Wales and 78-8 to England.

Two of the unbeaten teams at the U18 Six Nations Festival in Cork go head to head at Musgrave Park when Scotland and England clash at 2.30pm.

England have been impressive in victories over Italy and France while the Scots have overcome Ireland and France in their two games.

England coach Alex Sanderson said he had picked a strong team to take on Scotland.

"Scotland are certainly on a high at the moment. They have a real momentum going and they are enjoying their success. I know there is real optimism in their camp at the moment so this is going to be a really big challenge for us."

Scotland manager Euan Kennedy said it would a tough game for his side.

"England are a team in good form and they are unbeaten all season so this is going to be a big challenge for our boys. We are confident we have picked a team who can do a job in Musgrave Park but it’s going to be tough."

France V Wales, April 1, 2.30pm, Temple Hill.

Wales are hoping to make it three from three in this year’s U18 Six Nations Festival in Cork but the young Welsh players will be sternly tested by France who are on the hunt for a first win.

Wales have been hugely impressive so far at the festival beating hosts Ireland at Musgrave Park as well as running out convincing winners over Italy in their second game.

With skilful wide players and a hugely powerful pack Wales have been in fine form and they are looking to complete a perfect results record in their final game at Temple Hill.

Head coach Simon King said his players looked forward to a tough test.

"You are always excited about the final games at a tournament and this is no different. We’re asking the boys to keep their focus till the final whistle tomorrow and if we do that we can do well. To win three out of three would be a great achievement and would be a reward for all the hard work that has been put in."

France are looking to bounce back from losses to Scotland and England and have held off naming their team till the morning of the match as they assess a number of players.

Coach Sebastian Bertrank said that his side will be pushing hard for a win.

"We want to be more consistent throughout the game and play well throughout. The team needs to be aggressive and strong in defence and we hope that everyone has learned a lot from the mistakes of the past two games. Good players don’t make the same mistakes twice so we hope to be better in our final game."
