19th May 2016 By Munster Rugby
To cap off another fantastic year in club rugby, a cross section of Irish club rugby gathered in Dublin last night for the fourth annual All Ireland League Awards.
Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt was on hand at the Aviva Stadium, to present the awards across all divisions of the league.
Young Munster second row Sean Duggan received the Munster Player Of The Year award for his contributions throughout the season. The Limerick side finished third place in the league to reach the play off semi final stage where they were narrowly beaten by Cork Constitution.
Following a remarkable season, Cork Constitution lock Conor Kindregan was named Division 1A Player of the Year, while his former club colleague and Munster outhalf Scott Deasy, now at Lansdowne, finished the regular season with the most points to become Division 1A Top Points Scorer.
The Munster contingent was strong across the remaining divisions with Charlie O'Regan of UCC winning the Division 2A Player of the Year award and Paddy O'Toole of Highfield acknowledged as the Division 2B Player of the Year Award. Both clubs won their respective divisions to gain promotion in next year’s league.
No 8 Brendan Guilfoyle of Old Crescent was named the Division 2C Player of the Year. Brendan also played a key role for his club to march to the top of Division 2C gaining automatic promotion to Division 2B next season.
