Five Munster Players Named For Ireland U20s

3rd February 2016 By Munster Rugby

The Ireland U20 team has been named to take on Wales in the opening round of the Six Nations championship which includes five Munster plyers.

Two Munster backs have been selected to start who include the Cork Con duo, centre Shane Daly and scrum-half John Poland.

Both players were involved in the Munster U20 side that claimed the Interprovincial title last September and also played for the Munster Development side that lined out against Ireland Under 20s in Irish Independent Park.

Poland also made his British and Irish Cup debut for Munster in January against London/Scottish at CBC Lansdowne.

Young Munster hooker Shane Fenton has been named on the replacements and joins Cashel’s second row Seán O’Connor and backrow Kelvin Browne from Shannon.

The trio were involved in the recent Munster Development and Ireland Under 20 fixture which saw Fenton and O’Connor line out for Munster and Browne represent the Ireland U20s.

The match, which is sponsored by Electric Ireland will take place in Donnybrook Stadium on Friday, 5th February at 7.35pm.
