Five Munster Players Retain Places For Sevens Qualifier

Five Munster players have retained their place in the 12 woman squad to contest the FIRA-AER Women’s World Cup Sevens qualifying tournament in Moscow this weekend.
This is the second and final qualifying tournament for the Women’s World Cup Sevens which will also be in held in Moscow in 2013. Earlier this month, the team won the first round qualifier in Ghent, Belgium, with an unbeaten run and impressively, without conceding a point throughout the tournament.
Ireland will face opposition from Italy, Switzerland and Netherlands in Pool C in Moscow and following that have been drawn against Pool D for the Cup/Bowl/Plate Section.
The side which is managed by former Munster Rugby Women’s Development Officer and Munster Representative, Gemma Crowley, are looking for a top five finish this weekend in order to advance to the World Championships in 2013.
