Garryowen defeat U.L. Bohemian

A bonus point victory for Garryowen at Dooradoyle as they maintain their outside challenge in Division 1A for the Ulster Bank League title.

Garryowen 38, U.L. Bohemian 3
Garryowen bounced back to winning ways when they trounced UL Bohemian in what was a rare one-sided local derby under the lights at Dooradoyle.
There was a fair sized attendance present for this latest installment and while Garryowen supporters left very happy it was too one-sided for neutral observers.
The game was over as a contest by halftime by which stage Garryowen led 21-3 and the only question waiting to be answered was when they would score their fourth try.
It came after 66 minutes when Ronan O'Mahony rounded off a superb passing movement to touch down beside the posts.
For good measure they added a fifth by Dave Sherry just at the end.
James Rael went into action after two minutes when hooker Dave Rowley was injured and he got two of their first half tries with the other being scored by Conan Doyle who was injured in the process and Geoff Ryan took over the kicking duties and landed one penalty and four conversions.
Rael's first try came after 22 minutes and he got in again with the last play of the half. Doyle converted the first of the tries but when he went off in the process of getting his try after 26 minutes Ryan took over the goal kicking role.
Ben Martin kicked a penalty for the losers when they were 14-nil in arrears.
