Girls Age Grade Blitz Days

Over the past couple of weekends girls ranging in age from U13 to U19 from Abbeyfeale, Bandon, Crosshaven, Carrigaline, Fermoy and Castleisland RFC’s have taken part in blitz days in Fermoy and Carrigaline Rugby Clubs.

All blitz days began with 45 minutes of skills sessions where the focus varied from decision making to handling and scrum formation to lineout lifting.

Munster’s Womens Rugby Officer Amanda Greensmith was assisted in the skills tutoring by Munster Women’s squad members Donna Hughes and Karen Casey as well as Munster and Irish centre Helen Brosnan.

Following the skills section of the day it was over to the girls who implemented what they had learned into the their games and made for some very entertaining rugby.

Munster Rugby would like to thank Fermoy RFC and Carrigaline RFC for the use of their facilities and look forward to upcoming Blitz days.
