Killarney RFC growing girls rugby

Killarney RFC are making every effort to grow and promote the girls game in Kerry.

The club started out with two girls playing over two years ago and now have 22 girls playing rugby.

They held their first ever girls only match in Killarney at U10 level last month and most recently attended their first ever girls only blitz at Tralee RFC along with U11, U12 and U13s from Tralee, Listowel, Killorglin and Abbeyfeale.

They have a dedicated female Liason Officer in the club (Denise Treacy) for the first time, and are focussed on promoting rugby in Killarney and beyond, forging relationships with all the West Munster clubs and beyond.

These events are huge for the club and for girls rugby development in Kerry and the hard work is evident on and off the pitch with participation numbers growing each year.
