Girls Schools 7’s Champions Train With James Coughlan
5th June 2013 By Munster Rugby
Following on from the inaugural Munster Girls Schools 7’s competition the winning team from Colaiste Ide Agus Iosef Secondary School, Abbeyfeale, took part in a training session yesterday with Irish 7’s player and Munster No 8 James Coughlan.
The session was kindly hosted by Shannon RFC in Coonagh where James put the girls through their paces focusing on handling, decision making and team play while also giving the young players a clear understanding on the fundamentals of sevens rugby.
Following their training session, the girls moved to Thomond Park where they were treated to a stadium tour and a visit to the Munster Museum.
Given the success of this year’s competition, the schools 7’s tournament will return in season 2013/2014. For further details please email Amanda Greensmith, Women’s Community Rugby Officer at amandagreensmith@munsterrugby.ie
