Glenstal & PBC Through To Semi Final

Glenstal Abbey School and PBC today claimed their semi final spots in the SEAT Munster Schools Junior Cup.
Glenstal Abbey 17, Ardscoil Ris 14.
A sensational finish at the UL Sports Complex as a last minute penalty from Glenstal’s Ben Healy earned his side a place in the semi finals of the SEAT Schools Munster Junior Cup.
Glenstal led 7-0 at half time with a try from Johnny Williams, converted by Healy.
Ardscoil enjoyed the better of the exchanges in the second half. Evan Cusack opened Ardscoil’s account with a penalty, but a Healy penalty restored Glenstal’s seven point advantage.
A try by Ronan Coffey converted by Cusack tied up the scores and a second try by Ian Browne again converted by Cusack made it 17-10 to Ardscoil.
George Downing closed the gap with a try for Glenstal before Healy’s last minute penalty ended Ardscoil’s cup ambitions.

Presentation Brothers College booked their place in the last four of the SEAT Munster Schools Junior Cup with a comprehensive victory over St. Munchin’s at Lansdowne.
Despite playing into the strong wind Pres’ took the lead with a try from winger Paul Buckley mid way through the first half.
Four minutes before the interval James Broderick extended Pres’ advantage with a penalty. Minutes later skipper Jason Kiely replied with a penalty for Munchin’s.
It was all Pres’ in the second half. Broderick kicked his second penalty shortly after the interval and Pres’ number 8 Jack O’Sullivan scored their second try and Broderick converted.
