Lansdowne edged out Young Munster on top spot in Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League on points difference after their big home win over Shannon.

Lansdowne 48, Shannon 7
Shannon suffered one of their biggest defeats in their All Ireland League history when Lansdowne defeated them at the Aviva Stadium.
Matt Healy was the star of the show for Lansdowne scoring two tries as the home side scored six tries to go top of the League on points difference. John Shine scored a try for Shannon after sixteen minutes and Rob Guerin converted.

Young Munster 16, St. Mary’s College 14.
Six yellow cards-three to each side-were flashed in the second half at Clifford Park when Young Munster edged out St Mary's College to atone for the defeat in the late stages of when the sides last met in the final game of last season.
Young Munster could not have had a better start. They went long from their own kick-off, the ball was not properly gathered and Darragh O'Neill kicked on. Eventually the home side were awarded a scrum which was re-set twice and on the third occasion St Mary's were penalised.
Brian Haugh who kicked thirteen points against Shannon a week earlier, made no mistake with the third minute penalty.
Young Munster, and Haugh, doubled the score four minutes later when again St Mary's were penalised in the scrum.
There was very little in the way of scoring opportunities for either side in the rest of a disappointing half.
St Mary's got back in the game early in the second half when centre Marcus O'Driscoll landed a drop goal.
But Young Munster regained the initiative when they were awarded a penalty try when a St Mary's player deliberately knocked on with an overlap likely to yield a try. Haugh converted.
Matters got worse for the visitors when they were reduced to 13 but
Young Munster conceded a penalty in front of their own posts which Ray Crotty landed and he was on target with another after 68 minutes.
The yellow cards were flying at this stage and Young Munster seemed to have blown their chances when back row Kevin Sheehan got in for a try to lead 14-13 after 70 minutes.
Three minutes from the end Haugh landed a penalty from 30 metres to bring his tally from two league outings to 24.

UL Bohemian 23, Cork Constitution 15.
A brilliant try by former Munster player Mossy Lawler highlighted UL Bohemian rare win over Cork Constitution at Annacotty.
In recent seasons the Limerick side have suffered many setbacks at the hands of Constitution but this time they were deserving winners with a last minute try putting a gloss on the scoreboard for the losers who left pointless which is not a usual happening.
JJ Hanrahan landed a fourth minute penalty for the home side which Scott Deasy cancelled with a penalty for the visitors ten minutes later.
The Limerick side were awarded a penalty try which Hanrahan converted and he added a penalty to leave it 13-3 at the interval.
Lawler's try followed in the 47th minute before centre Darragh Lyons had a try for Cons after 65 minutes.
Martin McPhail had a try for UL-Bohes after 75 minutes to make it 23-8 and just at the end centre Robert Clune had the last try of the game which Deasy converted.

Old Belvedere are still looking for their first win after picking up their second losing bonus point after they lost to Dolphin at Musgrave Park
The home side led 18-3 at half time with tries from Harry Fleming and Cian Bohane and two penalties and a conversion by Barry Keeshan to a penalty by Josh Glynn.
Belvo’ came more into the game after the break and two tries by David Mongan and a Glynn conversion closed the gap. Keeshan was off target with two penalty efforts before kicking a drop goal to secure Dolphin’s first win.

U.C.D. 42 Bruff 10
UCD look like the team to beat in Division 1B having scored seven tries in their opening game they ran in six at Belfield against Bruff to give them maximum points from their two games.
Brian Carroll opened the scoring with a penalty for Bruff but UCD hit back to lead 11-3 at half time but five second half tries proved too much for the visitors. Brendan Deady scored a late try for Bruff which Brian Carroll converted.

A sensational result at the Mardyke as visitors Midleton picked up their first win in this Division 2A.
The students went into this game on the back of a big away win in Derry last week and looked like they were on their way to another bonus point victory when winger Conor Barry scored a try in the corner in the opening minute.
Midleton gradually got into the game and two penalties by Paul Daly had them 6-5 ahead at half time.
College introduced Darren Sweetnam at half time at full back and he showed some nice touches.
The students failed to come to grips with an excellent display by the Midleton pack and went further behind when Daly kicked his third penalty on sixty five minutes.
The turning point came ten minutes from time when “young” Jason Holland intercepted forty meters out and raced to the line to score and Daly converted. Holland added a drop goal as the game entered injury time to make it 19-5.
College ran everything in the final minutes and were rewarded with tries from Daniel Horgan and Sweetnam with Sean Óg Murphy converting the later.

Highfield 23, Greystones 26.
Greystones recorded their second win in Division 2 A of the Ulster Bank All Ireland League as they came from behind to defeat Highfield with a last minute try at Woodleigh Park.
The decisive score came when the Wicklow side had ‘Field camped deep inside their own 22 in the game’s final phase and second row Ben Armstrong barged over next to the posts following a five-metre penalty and Andrew Kealy converted.
Playing with wind advantage in the opening half, Highfield had the visitors on the back foot from the kick-off and they led 13-5 at half time with a try from Sean Quaid and a conversion and two penalties by Paddy O’Toole.
A penalty try and conversion and penalty by O’Toole had the home side 23-8 ahead entering the final stages but a late rally by the Wicklow side which yielded a try and two penalties closed the gap to four, before the scene was set for a dramatic finale.

It was not a good day either for the majority of the Munster sides in Division 2B. Nenagh Ormond defeated Clonakilty 41-14. Thomond lost at home to NUIM Barnhall 40-14 and Sunday’s Well suffered a 45-7 defeat away to City of Armagh.
