Highfield Set To Retain Cup Title

Title holders Highfield defeated UL Bohemian 27-22 in Woodleigh Park last Sunday courtesy of a late score from Geraldine Rea in extra-time to book their place in the Women’s All Ireland Cup final.

Tullamore RFC will host the final on Sunday, 30th March (kick-off 3pm) as the Cork side bid for a two in a row championship title against Galwegians, who secured a 22-13 win against Old Belvedere last week-end to claim their final spot.

Munster sides Ballincollig and Tralee will also be in action at Tullamore on Sunday following semi final wins last week-end for both sides who booked a place in the All Ireland Shield and Plate finals respectively.

Action kicks off with the Plate final between Ballincollig and Cill Dara at 12pm. That game will be followed by the Shield final at 1pm between Tralee and Queen's University and the Cup final between Galwegians and Highfield kicks off at 3pm in what promises to be a day of women’s rugby not to be missed.
