Holland And McMahon Host Workshop At Clonmel RFC
7th February 2013 By Munster Rugby
Over 70 coaches recently attended a coaching workshop at Clonmel RFC hosted by Munster Elite Player Development Officer Colm McMahon and former Munster player and back’s coach Jason Holland.
McMahon, former Munster forward, presented on specific areas at the breakdown in the absence of Denis Leamy who was unavailable to attend on the evening due to a family bereavement.
The importance of width in the attack was the main focus of Holland’s ‘backline attack’ module who was assisted by Rockwell College Senior Cup players demonstrating the practical element of the session.
Ireland International Referee John Lacey tutored on the laws of the ‘breakdown’ and ‘backline attack’ and answered questions in an open forum on these areas along with the new law variations.
Overall the night was well received and Munster will continue to host similar sessions.
Next up Rob Penney, Munster Head Coach, will be hosting a Coaching Conference in Limerick, 4th March and Cork on 5th March. For further details please click here or email siobhancollins@munsterrugby.ie
