Munster Development is delighted to confirm two special guests speakers for the Talent Development Conference for parents and coaches at Thomond Park on Wednesday 24 January (7pm).

Former Munster out-half Johnny Holland and Irish athlete Sinead Jennings will join key-note speakers Dr Áine McNamara and Professor Dave Collins, who are already scheduled to share their talent development expertise.

Holland progressed through the Munster Academy system before signing a professional contract in 2013 and played 11 times for Munster.

Holland retired in 2016 through injury and since then has developed a health and wellness business, www.jonnyholland10.com.

Jennings has competed internationally in rowing, triathlon and cycling. In 2001, Jennings won the Women’s Lightweight Single Sculls at the World Rowing Championships, having won bronze in 2000. In 2008, the international athlete followed up her achievements with a silver.

At the conference, key-note speakers Dr McNamara and Professor Collins will deliver a presentation on how to best support children through talent development pathways and will share their knowledge as world leaders in this area.

Topics will include: Myths and Truths of Talent Development, Concerns and Considerations for Parents, Concerns and Considerations for Coaches, What to do to Stay Ahead, The Rocky Road to Success.

Dr McNamara and Professor Collins, both from the University of Central Lancashire’s Institute of Coaching and Performance, have worked in Talent Development for over 20 years and consulted Leicester Tigers, Chelsea FC, England Hockey and the Lawn Tennis Association.
