The U17 and U18 boys player development squads have been working on their skills while at home over the last couple of months.
The players receive weekly skills videos from Munster Rugby Technical Skills Development Coach, Mike Pettman, to help progress their development.
A weekly S&C challenge is set by Munster Rugby Club and Community Rugby Officer, Rebecca O’Reilly, for the players to complete and ensure they are staying active during this time.
Munster Rugby Women’s Development Officers, Ken Imbusch and Willie Schubert, also share the weekly development videos with their respective club and school contacts.
Noel O’Meara, Munster U17 Boys Head Coach, said: “The videos provide an opportunity for players to work on their skills and S&C at home.
“Both player groups (schools/clubs) also receive nutritional education and will be provided with mental wellbeing resources over the next couple of weeks as well as individual skill and fun challenges.”
Fiach O’Loughlin, Munster U18 Boys Head Coach, said: “The players post videos executing various skills within a group platform so they can receive individual feedback on physical and technical development from coaches.
“The plan going forward is to continue engaging with players at home until we return to on pitch sessions in the future.”
In this week’s addition to the Munster Rugby Coaching Playlist, Mike Pettman sets a two-minute skills challenge for everyone at home.
