Huge Turnout At Clanwilliam Concussion Workshop

The Munster Rugby Development Department hosted another very successful Concussion Awareness workshop in Clanwilliam FC last night.

Over 50 coaches from all Tipperary Clubs attended the workshop that was co-ordinated by Andy Brace and John Lacey and delivered by Dr. Garrett Coughlan from the IRFU Medical Department.

Munster Rugby would like to thank all youth officers and club and school secretaries who helped to promote the event in Clanwilliam. Also many thanks to Morgan Mooney and all in Clanwilliam Rugby Club for holding the event.

Limerick IT hosts the next Concussion Awareness workshop tomorrow night in Lecture Hall 4A02 at 7pm. Please contact janeburns@munsterrugby.ie to register your place at this workshop.

Nearly 400 coaches, parents, players and referees have attended this season's six Concussion Awareness Workshops to date.

The Workshops are hosted by the Munster Rugby Development Department, in conjunction with the IRFU.

They have been running since last year and are free of charge with all club and school coaches and officials encouraged to attend.

Dr. Garrett Coughlan, the IRFU's Medical Co-ordinator, hosts all of the workshops which include modules
relating to Concussion Recognition Management and Return to Play protocols followed by a Question and Answer session.

The content has been designed to educate coaches, parents, players and referees on the dangers of concussion and how to recognise it.
