This fortnight Munster Rugby in partnership with the Cork English College are hosting an English & Rugby Camp for foreign students aged from 13 to 17 years.
The two week programme which takes place at Cork Institutive of Technology, has been designed to give participants the opportunity to learn English and rugby incorporating the combination of language tuition in the mornings and on-pitch training in the afternoons.
As part of their rugby experience the students paid a trip to Thomond Park Stadium on Tuesday to tour Munster’s home grounds and visit the Munster Rugby museum. They then moved on to the University of Limerick where they watched the Munster Senior Squad training session and met the players afterwards.
Coached by Munster Community Rugby Officers the students are also being educated on nutrition and strength and conditioning as part of the programme.
Speaking on behalf of Munster Rugby Damon Urlich, Community Rugby Manager said "this is the first of two English & Rugby camps we are hosting this summer. The last fortnight has been excellent and both players and coaches alike have thoroughly enjoyed the different aspects of the programme.
"Our partnership with the Cork English College continues to develop and we look forward to running an equally successful programme in 2017."
