Coached by Brendan O'Connor, the Munster side started their campaign with a 19-14 win away in Ulster as they overcame a 14-3 half-time deficit.

A second victory over Leinster, 14-3, in Thomond Park set up a title decider with Connacht last weekend after the Westerners had also emerged victorious from their opening two encounters.
