In Pics: Munster Women Win Interpro Title

Munster, sponsored by Keanes Jewellers, won the Interpro title for the seventh time in nine years on Saturday as Ger Rea’s last minute penalty secured a dramatic 9-7 win over Connacht at Tralee RFC.

Connacht were on course to claim the title in the 80^th minute as they led 7-6 but Rea landed a tricky penalty from the right to snatch the win and regain the crown for Munster.

Connacht dominated the first half and led 7-0 at the break thanks to a Jill Draper try in the right corner that was converted by Clare Rafferty.

Munster produced a much better second half performance and hit back through two Rea penalties to reduce the deficit to just a point.

The Connacht defence proved too difficult to breach but a late infringement at the breakdown handed Rea the chance to win it and she made no mistake to spark jubilant celebrations.
