The International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament and International Mixed Ability Sports 2020 Project Team today announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the measures affecting travel, borders and large gatherings across the world, the International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament set for Irish Independent Park in June is now postponed, with a view to rescheduling for the summer of 2021.

The IMART and IMAS 2020 Project Team issued the below statement today:

The International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament is intended to be a joyful event, celebrating diversity and the welcoming nature of rugby, and we feel that under the current circumstances and uncertainty this would be impossible to guarantee within the next three months.

This was not an easy decision, but the safety of our participants many of whom have disabilities or long-term health conditions is paramount.

We will continue to work with our Partners, Sponsors, Volunteers, Supporters and all interested parties to ensure a seamless transition to the new 2021 date.

We will be in touch shortly with all teams on an individual basis.

We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support in response to these unforeseeable circumstances, thank you and most importantly, stay safe.
