Interpro Winners Showcase Trophies At Thomond Park

The Munster Women, Munster U20 and Munster U19 squads attended Thomond Park Stadium last Friday night to support Munster in their PRO12 fixture against Glasgow and showcase their respective Interprovincial winning trophies.
Winger Niamh Kavanagh represented the Munster Women at the half time presentation joined by Munster U20 Interprovincial Captain Paul Kiernan and Alex McHenry, Captain of the Munster U19 winning squad.
The Munster Women kicked off this season’s interprovincial championships with an 8-3 away win over Connacht followed by an emphatic 43-0 victory over Ulster in Thomond Park.
Thomond Park also hosted their final fixture where they secured a 15-7 win over Leinster to claim their 11th Interprovincial title.
In recognition of their sponsorship over the years, the Munster Women made a presentation of a signed jersey to Aidan Lyddy of Keanes Jewellers as a token of appreciation for their continuous support.
The Munster U20s got their campaign off to a great start with a hard fought 18-17 win over Ulster in Belfast. The Mardyke, Cork hosted the side’s second fixture where they overcame Leinster 22-8 before travelling to Connacht to secure a 24-23 win claiming the Interprovincial title.
First up for the Munster U19s was a 17-13 away win over Ulster. The side claimed a 26-18 victory against Leinster the following week at CIT, Cork and completed their three in a row with a comprehensive 49-19 win against Connacht in Galway crowing them U19 Interprovincial Champions.
All three squad representatives were applauded at half time by the Thomand Park spectators for their recent achievements as they look forward to defending their titles next season.
