Interprovincial Squads Continue Preparations

The Munster Development, Munster Under 19, Munster Under 18 Clubs and Munster Under 18 Schools representative sides are in week three of the Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Talent Camp as they continue to prepare for the upcoming interprovincial series.

Munster's U18 Club and Munster U18 School squads are taking part in a five week intense residential training programme at Rockwell College. Both squads are undergoing a heavy schedule of on pitch sessions, team bonding and strength and conditioning as well as educational modules focusing on health and nutrition and the players' general well being.

In their five day week schedule the squads also attend gym sessions on Monday and Friday at their home training bases.

This year, the Munster Under 17 Development Schools and Clubs have also been training at Rockwell College with their Under 18 counterparts as Munster Rugby continues to focus on the pathway for young players.

Munster President Gerry O'Shea and Munster Vice President Charlie Buckley on a recent visit to Rockwell College.

The Munster Development squad (formally Munster U20s) and Munster U19 squad are following their Talent Camp programme in line with the Munster Academy at two centres in the Cork Institute of Technology and Limerick Institute of Technology.

Programmes include on-pitch activities, strength and conditioning sessions and player welfare tutorials focusing on diet and nutritional needs.

Throughout the camp it is envisaged that players will be identified for future development programmes as part of Munster Rugby's long term player development and overall objective in building for the future.
