All Ireland League Round-Up

Garryowen win the big derby against Cork Constitution in Division 1A of the All Ireland League as Shannon lose top spot in Division 1B.
At Dooradoyle Garryowen ran out 24-17 winners. Neil Cronin and Tomas Quinlan exchanged early penalties before David Johnston scored a try for Garryowen which Cronin converted for a 10-6 half time lead.
Neil Cronin added a try and two conversions to leave Garryowen leading 24-12 before a late try from Jason Higgins earned the visitors a losing bonus point.
Garryowen have slipped to third place and Cork Constitution are down to fifth place.
Terenure College moved up to second place after their 32-13 home win against Young Munster.
In Division 1B leaders Shannon were no match for Ballynahinch who won 42-15 a result that sees them move into top spot. Aaron Hehir and Keith Kavanagh scored tries for Shannon. Kavanagh kicked a conversion and Richard Mullane added a penalty.
U.C.C. moved up to fourth place after their 22-15 away win at UL Bohemian. Kevin Slater scored two tries for the Cork side and Tadgh McCarthy scored one. James Taylor kicked a penalty and two conversions. Ian Condell and Darragh O’Grady replied with tries for UL Bohes. Robbie Bourke kicked a conversion and Mike Mullane added a penalty.
Dolphin lost away to Banbridge 26-25. James Rochford scored two tries for Dolphin, David O’Mahony got one and Barry Keeshan kicked two conversions and two penalties.
Highfield have narrowed the gap to a point behind leaders Malone in Division 2A after their 40-18 away win at Galwegians. Paddy Ryan, Fintan O’Sullivan, Tim Ryan and David O’Sullivan were Highfield’s try scorers. They were also awarded a penalty try.
Nenagh Ormond recorded a 35-17 away win at Blackrock College to remain in third place. Clayton Stewart scored two tries, three conversions and three penalties for the Tipperary side. Kevin O’Flaherty and John Healy also scored tries for Nenagh.
Cashel defeated City of Armagh 13-10 in a thrilling game at the Spafield. Richard Moran and Conor Cashman scored tries for Cashel and Darragh Lyons kicked a penalty.
Old Crescent remain top in Division 2B after their 22-20 home win against Navan thanks to a late penalty from Ronan McKenna. Two tries from Brian Tuohy both converted by McKenna and a try from Val McDermott early in the second half had the Rosbrien side 19-6 ahead before a late Rally saw the Meath side take the lead 20-19.
An Evan Cusack penalty was not enough for Thomond who lost 9-3 away to Bective Rangers in Division 2C.
Bruff defeated Midleton 17-13 with tries from Danny Keogh and Jack O’Grady with Dave O’Grady converting both and he also added a penalty. Aidan Ware scored a try for Midleton and Stuart Lee converted and also kicked a drop goal and a penalty.
