The Ireland Men and Women Sevens squads completed their three-day tournament at St George’s Park on Monday in what was their first international competition since early 2020.
The men’s side finished top of the standings in what will be a huge confidence boost for Anthony Eddy’s side as they look forward to June’s World Rugby Sevens Repechage where they will hope to secure a spot at the Olympics in Tokyo.
Eddy’s outfit produced some excellent performances on Day 3 as they dispatched USA 33-0 before beating the hosts GB in a tight affair 14-12.
Across the weekend, there were debuts for Munster trio Jack Crowley, Alex Kendellen and Conor Phillips. Crowley crossed for a first-half try against the USA on Day 3.
