Ireland U18 Women’s 7s Squad Win Home Nations Tournament
9th July 2018 By The Editor
The Ireland U18 Women’s 7s squad won the inaugural Home Nations tournament in Edinburgh at the weekend, overcoming England 19-10 in the final to record an undefeated display across the two-day competition.
Two Munster players were involved in the victorious squad with Carrick On Suir’s Maggie Boylan contributing to a fantastic achievement and Fethard’s Dorothy Wall captaining the side, following on from co-captaining the Ireland Women’s U18s to European bronze earlier in the year with Anna Doyle.
The two-legged tournament involving Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales is a new addition to the summer schedule of international Sevens, and gives some of Irish Rugby’s emerging Sevens talent another opportunity to shine in the green jersey. The second leg will take place at Birmingham University from July 20-22.
