Ireland U20 Team Named For Wales

Ireland U20 coach Mike Ruddock has named his starting XV to face Wales on Friday, 7th February in Dubarry Park (kick-off 7.35pm).

The starting line-up includes Munster No. 8 and Man of the Match against Scotland Jack O’Donoghue who recovered from the knock he took late in the opening game.

O’Donoghue who scored twice against the Scots will reprise his backrow partnership with fellow try scorer Peadar Timmins and team captain Dan Leavy.

Munster’s Max Abbott remains in the hooker position alongside fellow Munster man Rory Burke who starts at tighthead.

Ruddock has made one change to the starting XV which sees Leinster’s Cian Kelleher come in on the wing in place of Adam Byrne.

There are three further changes on the bench with Munster’s Sean McNulty replacing Jacob Walshe, Denis Coulson replacing Shane Delahunt and Frankie Taggart in place of Rory Moloney. Jack Cullen and Dan Goggin from Munster have also been named in the replacements.

Speaking ahead of the game Ruddock commented, "We got off to a good start in difficult conditions against the Scots but Welsh will provide a much sterner test. An unchanged side gives us some consistency and will allow combinations to develop across the field. We have some fresh faces on the bench which will be hoping to make an impact on the game at some stage.”
