Ireland Women Draw World Cup Champions

The Women’s Rugby World Cup 2014 pool allocation draw took place today, 30th October at the Hotel de Ville in Paris.

Grand Slam winners Ireland will participate in Group B which includes current World Cup champions New Zealand, Kazakhstan and USA.

With less than a year until kick-off, anticipation and excitement is already building ahead of the pinnacle of the women's Game scheduled to take place from 1st to 17th August .

Matches will be hosted at FFR Marcoussis with the semi-finals and final played at Stade Jean Bouin in the French capital.

Speaking about the draw Ireland coach Philip Doyle said: "We are familiar with Kazakhstan and the USA from the last time and both teams present a really physical challenge".

"We beat USA in the pool stages but they came back hard at us in the playoffs and I expect nothing less this time around".

"In terms of New Zealand, we are delighted to have drawn them as we have not faced them before and we will relish the chance to play them."

Ireland begin their defence of the Women's RBS 6 Nations title against Scotland on February 1st in Ashbourne RFC.

Pool A: Canada, England, Samoa, Spain
Pool B: Ireland, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, USA
Pool C: Australia, France, South Africa, Wales
