Ireland Women Seek Strong Finish
19th March 2010 By Munster Rugby
After last weekend’s victory over the Welsh Women’s side, the Ireland Women will be looking to continue their good run tonight and maintain their impressive home record in their final 6 Nations game against Scotland.
Munster’s Joy Neville and Niamh Briggs continued to impress last weekend against Wales with both scoring tries, and Briggs also adding a penalty, as both contributed to the 18-3 scoreline.
Speaking after her side’s second win of the 2010 campaign, Neville said "We are much fitter and more physical than we were in last year’s Championship."
"We have increased the amount of strength and conditioning work we have done under Sami and now that it is bearing fruit. The contests between Wales and ourselves are always tight and although we had not beaten them since 2005 the games have never had a lot of points in them."
"We are delighted to get the win and hopefully we can kick on against Scotland and really end our Championship on a high."
Ireland play Wales in Ashbourne RFC, Meath tonight with a 7.30 kick off. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
