IRFU Launch the Clubhouse
12th December 2008 By Munster Rugby
The Irish Rugby Football Union has launched a new portal on its official website, www.IrishRugby.ie, to assist clubs in the administration and management of their facilities and players.
The new portal, ‘The Clubhouse’, provides a host of information, resources and downloads for club administrators.
The new portal also provides access to the IRFU Player registration system and will allow all clubs and schools to register players in an more user friendly way.
Also included within The Clubhouse is the new Facilities and Event Planning guide which was distributed to clubs recently. The guide contains all of the necessary guidelines and support for clubs to ensure a quality environment for players, supporters and volunteers including clubhouse amenities, weight training/gym facilities, floodlighting & pitch standards and event management safety standards.
The Clubhouse also contains information on various forms of funding available to clubs as well as pulling together information that was already available into a one stop shop for volunteers. There is a resource library, information on Player Insurance, IRB Rugby Ready programme, information on coaching, refereeing and The Clubhouse will also act as an important communications link between the Union, the branches and the Honorary Secretaries of clubs all around Ireland.
Speaking about the launch IRFU Domestic Game Manager Scott Walker said "This new portal will allow the IRFU to communicate more effectively and efficiently with our stake holders about new policies or initiatives at branch and union level. It is designed to make the work by the many volunteers who drive rugby at local level in clubs and schools less complicated and allow them access to a more efficient system. Over time our aim is to make The Clubhouse a one stop shop for all club and school rugby administration needs.
The Clubhouse is accessed via the Club & Community section of IrishRugby.ie and is password protected. Each club and school has already received a login to the portal. For more information clubs should contact the club development team within their branch.
