Richmond and Galbally reach Junior Clubs Challenge Cup Final as Thurles beat Cobh Pirates to earn their place in the Junior Clubs Challenge Shield Final.
Richmond have defeated holders Clonmel 10-9 in a thrilling Junior Clubs Challenge Cup semi final at Clonmel.
The home side were in the ascendancy for the opening fifteen minutes and with wind advantage raced into a 6-0 lead with two penalties from Conor Cooney.
Gradually the Richmond pack began to dominate the set pieces and their pressure was rewarded on the stroke of half time when they pushed Clonmel back from a five meter scrum and Eoin Hanly touched down. Wayne Murphy converted to give Richmond a 7-6 interval lead.
The second half was more evenly contested and ten minutes from time Cooney landed his third penalty to put Clonmel ahead by a point.
Richmond hit back and Murphy kicked a drop goal five minutes from time to send his side into the decider.

Galbally are through to their first ever final after they defeated St. Senan’s 12-11 at Jim Slattery Park.
The visitors raced into an early 12-0 lead with tries from Mark Sweeney and Tony Henebry, the latter converted by Jack O’Mullane.
Declan Rowe opened Senan’s account with a penalty after twenty minutes and on the stroke of half time Warren Kelly scored a try for the home side to leave it 12-8 at the interval.
The only score of the second half was a penalty from Rowe, as Galbally held out for a famous victory.

Thurles booked their place in the final of the Junior Clubs Shield Final with a 14-3 home win over Cobh Pirates.
All the scores came in the opening half with Joey Kelly and Aidan Dwyer scoring tries for Thurles and Dwyer converted both. Alan Langford replied with a penalty for the Pirates.
The other semi final between Mallow and Abbeyfeale was postponed.
Also off was the Martin O’Sullivan Cup quarter final tie between Bantry Bay and Crosshaven and this tie has been refixed for next Sunday 27th December in Crosshaven with a 2pm kick off.
The other semi final between Chorca Dhuibhne and Youghal has been rescheduled for Tuesday 29th December in Ballydavid.
The Muskerry v Waterpark Division One Munster Junior League tie was also a victim of the weather and this will now go ahead in Ballinakill on Sunday 3rd January.
The two games scheduled in the Second Division did go ahead.
Kinsale kept their promotion challenge on track with a 10-3 away win at Charleville. All the scoring came in the second half with Richard Kingston opening the scoring with a try for Kinsale and Sean Kingston converted. Shane O’Sullivan kicked a penalty for Charleville and Richard Kingston replied with one for Kinsale.
Newport had a bonus point 27-8 home win over Dungarvan.
Conor Guiry scored three tries for Newport and Tom Morgan and Alan Guirey got one each.
David Hickey replied with a try and a penalty for Dungarvan.
