It is a quiet weekend on the junior front with the quarter finals of the All Ireland Junior Cup dominating proceedings. (Full fixture list.)
There are three Munster sides involved but all have been drawn away. Clonmel travel to the Royal County to take on holders Ashbourne and will have to show an improvement on recent form if they are took a semi final spot.
Tipperary neighbours Kilfeacle who defeated Monivea away in the opening round must travel west again as they face Connemara.
Newcastle West after their surprising home win over Enniscorthy make the long trip to County Fermanagh to take on Enniskillen.
There are three quarter finals down for decision in the Munster Junior Clubs’ Challenge Shield on Sunday.
Muskerry take on Crosshaven in a Cork derby at Ellis Park and the winners will be rewarded with a home tie against Killarney or Ballincollig, who go head to head in the Kingdom.
Clonakilty are at home to Kinsale and the winners will have a home tie in the semi-finals against Old Christians or holders Thurles who meet next weekend.
The Martin O’Sullivan Cup quarter finals are also down for decision on Sunday. Ennis make the long trip to the West Kerry Gaeltacht to take on Chorca Dhuibhne. The winners will be rewarded whit home advantage in the semi-finals against Killorglin or Tralee, who lock horns at the Mid Kerry venue.
Dungarvan, who reached the final two years ago but lost to Charleville, should prove too strong for Douglas-Carrigaline at the West Waterford venue. The winners will be expected to have a home semi-final against Fethard who take on Fermoy in South Tipperary.
